Funding & Support

Although the current funding round has closed, whānau are still welcome to get in touch with us about kaupapa that support our whānau, hapū, marae and community.

 

We cannot guarantee funding or support every request. However, where we can, we may be able to help you think through your idea, point you towards other funding options, or consider whether your kaupapa aligns with future Trust initiatives.

How we may be able to help

Depending on the kaupapa and our capacity, we may be able to support whānau by:

​

• talking through your idea and what you are trying to achieve

• helping you identify possible funders or support agencies

• reviewing a draft funding application or basic budget

• providing a letter of support where the kaupapa aligns with the Trust’s purposes

• connecting you with relevant community groups, marae, services or agencies

• sharing upcoming funding rounds or local opportunities

• considering whether your kaupapa could fit within a future Trust initiative

 

Any financial contribution from the Trust would need to align with our charitable purposes, available budget and trustee decision-making process.

 

Before you contact us

It helps if you can provide:

• your name and contact details

• a short summary of your kaupapa

• who the kaupapa is for

• where and when it would happen

• what support you are looking for

• whether you have already applied to other funders

• any key dates or deadlines

 

You do not need to have everything fully worked out before contacting us. A clear starting point is enough.

Whānau and community groups may also wish to look at other funding and support pathways, including:

We encourage whānau to check eligibility criteria carefully before applying. Some funders only support incorporated groups or registered charities, while others may support individuals, whānau-led projects, education, arts, sport, marae development or community wellbeing.
